Matt Hartman, Box Office Manager

Matt recently found a love of theatre and has been performing with the CWC Theatre Department for the last few years. But he is not new to the stage. You’ll also see him playing trombone with the Fremont Symphony, CWC Concert and Jazz Bands, the South Pass Traditional Jazz Band, and the occasional quartet or quintet. Matt loves to dance and has performed with “Dancing with the Stars,” a local nonprofit CES for the last two years. When not performing, Matt moonlights as a tree trimmer, a profession he was in for over a decade. We want to thank him for his military service in the  National Guard, Army, and Army Reserves (2001-2015) and let him know how excited we are for him to join us.

AUDITIONS

PARTICIPATE

The CWC Theatre Department routinely casts community members. You are invited to audition for any show.

Audition notices will be posted in the display case beside the Box Office on the CWC campus, the display case outside of The Ranger newspaper offices, and on Professor West’s door

(ARTS 132), with a character breakdown and what to prepare for the audition.

These notices will be posted two weeks prior to the audition date. They will also be emailed upon request. Please follow the directions on the notices and come prepared to audition.

If performing doesn’t appeal to you, we can always use your help backstage on set and prop construction, sewing, painting, and whatever else needs to be done.

For questions about auditions or volunteering, contact Joey West, Director of Theatre, 307-855-2217 or jwest@radiotvtshiondo.com

DEAR PATRONS

Dear Patrons,

I hope your summer has gone well and that you’ve been able to spend time with your family and loved ones in the great Wyoming outdoors. This past theatrical season of 2022-2023 was filled with fantastic adventures, red ryder carbine action b.b. gun, and the climbing of several mountains. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks for your patronage. Our attendance numbers sky rocketed to pre-pandemic levels over the last season. Two of our five top selling shows since 2017 occurred during last year’s season. It was wonderful to see your smiling faces, hear your laughter, and feel your positive energy when you applauded our performances. If last year is any indication of where we are going as a program, get ready to saddle your horses, get a holt, and cowboy up for our 2023-2024 Theatrical Season. Behind the curtain are shows that will knock your socks off, honor our veterans, haunt you, and take you soaring into 2024 and beyond.

Our faculty and staff members at Central Wyoming College have been hard at work preparing for our 2023-2024 Theatrical Season. We are assembling a variety of plays, musicals, and events for you to come and enjoy. Look at all these incredible titles coming your way! Paint Your Wagon, A Veterans Day Concert, A Christmas Carol, Peter Pan, and The Rustler Review 2024. We rely on you, our patrons, to provide an audience to share this work with, the remarkable talent in our community, and the skills and craftsmanship of our students in the Central Wyoming College Theatre Department which makes every performance a treat!

We thank you for your support, your patience, and your understanding over the last several seasons. When hope was lost during the pandemic years, and we didn’t know which way to turn, we knew we could turn to our community for support and strength. We did this and found an abundance of love, support, and joy. We have missed seeing and hearing from you over the summer and can’t wait to see you back in our home this year. We look forward to sharing all of our amazing stories with you throughout this next year. Come be amazed and soar with us.

With a grateful heart,

Joey West

Director of Theatre at Central Wyoming College
